How to Play the UNO Game?

UNO is a famous card game that two to ten players can play at a time. The game's primary goal is to be the first one to get rid of all available cards. All cards are matched with the top card of the pile. You can match cards by number, color, or symbol. Some cards are specials that can change the direction of play, enable a player to draw more cards, or skip a player's turn. If while playing, you have only one card left, you must shout "UNO!" before your turn to save you from the penalty of drawing two cards.

The UNO game is available for mobile apps, and the online game versions to play with friends and earn rewards. Each of these versions offers extra features and modes of play ranging from joining tournaments to customization of rules.

Each player receives 7 cards at the start of the game, with the remaining cards creating a discarded draw pile. Every player turns one card from the pile one by one to start the game. The left player from the dealer's side commences the game and matches the top card of the discard pile through symbol, number, or color. If any player does not have a matching card, he should draw a card from the pile. In this manner, he can use his new card; if not, he has to hold onto it.

Certain cards offer some special effects during play:

  1. The reverse effect reversed the order of the play.
  2. The skip effect will skip the next player in the sequence.
  3. The draw-two effect forces the next player to draw two cards at once and miss their turn.
  4. The Wild effect enables its player to choose any color of his card.

Players can personalize their profiles, converse with the help of emojis, and engage in group chats within the game.

The player who clears all their cards first wins the game. The game can be played in a few rounds or as a series of rounds until a player reaches a pre-decided score, such as 500 points. The game's score is calculated by summing up the points of the cards remaining in other players' hands.
